International Day of Women and Girls in Science

Today is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Marked each year on the anniversary of Marie Curie’s birth, this event helps place a spotlight on the incredible contributions made within the STEM fields by women. In doing so, it is hoped to breakdown stereotypes and barriers, encouraging more women to enter these fields. This day also prompts us to recognise positive female role models within the scientific field, such as our own CEO, Danah Cadman. Danah enjoyed a long and highly successful career in nursing before moving across to operational and general management within healthcare. During her inspirational career, Danah has led a wide variety of transformative projects, including co-designing and building new hospital wards, developing and implementing new services and transforming the patient journey. Within Patient Care Locally, Danah remains passionately committed to improving the patient experience, enabling patients to receive the care they need in the most appropriate clinical setting, when they most need it – ensuring health equity for all.
